Abstract

Industri coffee shop di Indonesia, khususnya di kawasan wisata Kuta, Bali, berkembang menjadi bisnis yang dinamis secara kultural dan menarik banyak pekerja Generasi Z. Walaupun lingkungan aesthetic labor terlihat menarik, tugas kerja yang repetitif dan monoton sering menyebabkan boreout, sebuah kebosanan kronis yang berdampak negatif pada kesehatan mental. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi pengalaman boreout pekerja Generasi Z serta strategi adaptif untuk merekonstruksi keseimbangan hidup dan menjaga kesehatan mental. Pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologi transendental digunakan dengan sampel purposif tujuh barista full-time kelahiran 1997–2012 di coffee shop Kuta. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi, lalu dianalisis dengan model interaktif Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña serta pendekatan analisis Gioia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan boreout timbul akibat kekosongan intelektual akibat stagnasi tugas, rutinitas monoton, dan kehilangan makna kerja. Pekerja merespons secara proaktif dengan strategi job crafting berupa peningkatan keterampilan, koping emosional, dan pembangunan relasi. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa harmoni kerja-hidup yang dicapai melalui integrasi nilai personal ke dalam rutinitas kerja diperlukan untuk mengurangi boreout dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan pekerja muda.
