Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi fenomena boreout suatu kondisi kebosanan kronis dan kurangnya tantangan yang dialami oleh pekerja Generasi Z di industri coffee shop. Meskipun sektor ini menawarkan estetika visual yang menarik atau sering disebut sebagai aesthetic labour, realitas kerja yang repetitif dan monoton sering kali memicu understimulation yang berdampak negatif pada kesehatan mental. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menginvestigasi secara mendalam bagaimana pekerja Generasi Z di sebuah coffee shop di Kuta merekonstruksi keseimbangan hidup (work-life balance) dan menjaga kesehatan mental mereka saat menghadapi boreout. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi terhadap tujuh informan, termasuk barista, rekan kerja, dan psikolog praktisi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model Miles, Huberman, dan Gioia berbantuan NVivo 14. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa boreout pada barista bukan disebabkan oleh kelelahan fisik, melainkan stagnasi intelektual dan rutinitas tanpa makna. Pekerja Generasi Z merespons kondisi ini melalui strategi job crafting yang adaptif: Problem-Focused (pengembangan skill mandiri), Emotion-Focused (aktivitas healing), serta Meaning-Focused (membangun koneksi emosional). Kesimpulan utama studi ini adalah bahwa harmoni kehidupan (work-life harmony) bagi pekerja muda tercapai dengan mengintegrasikan nilai personal ke dalam rutinitas kerja, bukan sekadar memisahkan waktu kerja dan pribadi.
