Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji ulang peran media dalam menyampaikan kebenaran dengan merujuk pada pemikiran Martin Heidegger tentang aletheia (penyingkapan). Dalam budaya media kontemporer, kebenaran sering kali direduksi menjadi sekadar ketepatan representasional, apa yang akurat secara teknis dianggap benar secara esensial. Melalui pendekatan studi literatur, penelitian ini menelusuri gagasan bahwa media ideal bukanlah media yang netral dan pasif, tetapi justru memiliki fungsi ontologis aktif: media membentuk cara manusia mengalami dan memahami dunia. Berdasarkan pemikiran Gunkel & Taylor, Barnard, Kittler, Tammenoksa, McKenzie, dan Hansen, ditemukan bahwa media memiliki potensi ganda: menyingkap sekaligus menyelubungi realitas. Oleh karena itu, media yang ideal adalah media yang sadar akan proses mediasi dan framing-nya sendiri—ia tidak hanya menyajikan informasi, tetapi mendorong kontemplasi, pemaknaan reflektif, dan keterbukaan eksistensial. Di tengah krisis kebenaran digital saat ini, pemikiran Heidegger menawarkan kerangka penting untuk membayangkan kembali media sebagai ruang penyingkapan makna, bukan sekadar saluran teknis atau penyampaian informasi belaka.
