Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dampak lingkungan dari aktivitas pertambangan di Morowali, Sulawesi Tengah, serta untuk mengeksplorasi peran komunikasi partisipatif dalam mengurangi dampak tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis konten, dengan data yang dikumpulkan dan dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak Nvivo 12 Plus. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas pertambangan di Morowali memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap lingkungan, termasuk deforestasi, erosi tanah, pencemaran limbah, dan peningkatan risiko bencana alam seperti banjir. Namun, penelitian ini juga menyoroti pentingnya komunikasi partisipatif dalam mengurangi dampak lingkungan tersebut. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keterlibatan, jenis komunikasi, dan transparansi informasi adalah variabel utama yang mempengaruhi peran komunikasi partisipatif dalam mengurangi dampak lingkungan. Ikut melibatkan semua pemangku kepentingan dalam dialog terbuka dan kolaboratif, serta memastikan keterlibatan aktif dalam proses pengambilan keputusan terkait aktivitas pertambangan, komunikasi partisipatif dapat menjadi alat yang kuat dalam menjaga keberlanjutan lingkungan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Morowali dan wilayah sekitarnya.
